A cricket academy will be established in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association (ACA) is planning to build the world's largest cricket stadium in Amaravati. If implemented, this project will not only enhance the interest of cricket enthusiasts but also give Amaravati the opportunity to become a global sports hub. Currently, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is recognized as the largest cricket stadium in the world, with a seating capacity of 1,32,000. ACA aims to surpass this capacity and build a new cricket stadium with modern facilities. Under this project, ACA has requested the Andhra Pradesh state government to provide 200 acres of land to build a large sports city.

The government is expected to grant permission for 60 acres of land for the project. ACA aims to design this project for the prestigious 2029 National Games. According to ACA President Keshineni Shivanath, this project marks a significant phase for the development of cricket in the state. Along with the stadium construction, ACA is also preparing to establish modern cricket academies in the northern coastal region, Vijayawada, and Rayalaseema areas of Andhra Pradesh. For the successful implementation of the project, ACA has already planned to seek financial assistance from BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). ACA believes that this project will not only help host the 2029 National Games but also accelerate the development of cricket in the state.

Moreover, ACA is committed to producing at least 15 young cricketers for the IPL over the next 2 years. For this project, ACA is also planning to appoint prominent figures such as former Indian cricketer Mithali Raj and former cricketer Robin Singh to run the cricket academies. The stadium construction is estimated to cost ₹200 crore. In the initial phase of the project, ACA is working on acquiring the 60 acres of land from the government and developing strategies to raise funds. Once completed, this project will mark a significant milestone in the development of cricket in Andhra Pradesh and will play a key role in gaining more recognition in world cricket. For more details, visit Vaartha.
