Secondary education in the UK is considered the final step before entering a new realm. For instance, students can start their career through an apprenticeship, or vocational degree, take a year off from academics, or simply embark on a small business, and the list goes on. All these possibilities and several others do not require one to conform to the mostly expected pattern of seeking education.
